50岁的樋口浩介（光石研饰）是在东京大公司打工的上班族，每天都过着朝九晚五的忙碌生活，在公司干了十几年，浩介好不容易爬上了中层管理的位置，可直到此时他才发现，作为公司里的中层，除了要抵挡住来自上司不断施加的压力外，还得和手底下的员工斗智斗勇。这样的日子过久了，浩介感到非常的疲惫，产生了想要逃离自己生活的念头。 一天深夜，浩介在无意之中看到了小豆岛的旅行指南，在那里，浩介度过了自己的中学时光，那是一个充满了浩介的美好回忆的地方。于是，浩介立刻就以小豆岛为目的地启程踏上了旅途，在途中，浩介邂逅了一名不愿透露身份的神秘少年，两人结伴而行。。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years. Viewers who like their conclusions tidy may rebel, but those who relish outstanding performances in the service of an intriguing idea will be entertained.
