起初，太白金星在人间土地公的帮助下，先是参照天干地支、二十四山方位的说法，在人间选出了二十四种对人类有意义的动物作为人类的生肖，却没想到由于评判机制的模糊，被一些动物浑水摸鱼的混入其中。成为生肖之后，不仅不曾为百姓造福，甚至在人间为非作歹、引发了祸乱。于是玉帝只好再次命太白金星下凡平乱。最终，太白金星在土地公、被贬下凡的天蓬以及太上老君等人的帮助下，成功帮人间平定了生肖祸乱，揪出了二十四生肖中的‘害群之马’。天庭也采纳了大家的建议，结合人间寿命长短的实际，将二十四肖缩减为了十二生肖，让百姓按照自己的喜好投票选举。自此，人间用于记年的十二生肖正式诞生了。。Kenan & Kel is an American television sitcom that aired on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2000.
