电影讲述了迈可（爱德华·福隆 Edward Furlong 饰）通过一张光碟参加了一场看似刺激的游戏，但在游戏中，他竟然在现实中杀死了一个沉睡的男人。当他醒来时，他发现自己极度兴奋，这是他生活中从未有过的刺激和开心的感觉。然而，第二天当他看到新闻时，他震惊地发现那个谋杀案竟然真实发生了。 随后，第二张光碟寄到，迈可决定结束这场荒谬的游戏。但令人意外的是，游戏的主谋者从迈可的电脑中现身，竟然是一个具有形象的“人”，并威胁迈可再继续玩下去。主谋者开始挑唆迈可面对恐惧和幻象，使得迈可渐渐失去了对现实和虚幻的分辨能力。他陷入一种无法逃脱的催眠状态，主谋者完全控制了他的一切，让他分不清什么是真实的，什么是虚构的。。Two high level scuba-divers and long-time friends, Don and Dave, broke a world record for depth in the Boesmansgat cave in South Africa.
