Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs...。故事开始于二十世纪六十年代，学生运动领袖李基哲（李宗元 饰）为了赎罪来到了地处偏远的矿山成为了一名矿工，在对抗贪婪阴险的矿主申泰焕（赵敏基 饰）的过程中，李基哲落入了后者的圈套之内，不幸丧生。李基哲的大儿子李东哲（宋承宪 饰）目睹了这一切，悲痛之中，他发誓要为父亲报仇。 与此同时，护士美爱为了报复申泰焕的始乱终弃，将申泰焕和李基哲的孩子掉了包，就这样，申泰焕的孩子明勋（朴海镇 饰）成为了李东哲的弟弟，而李基哲的儿子李东旭（延正勋 饰）则成长在了申泰焕的膝下。随着时间的推移，当明勋和李东旭的复杂身世渐渐浮出水面，两人的人生轨迹亦因此发生了扭曲。。
