故事发生在70年代的台湾。宋丹妮一直以为自己遗传了亡母的精神病，自少不敢与人交往，性格孤僻多疑。一天，她在海边邂逅有为青年江涛，二人一见钟情，旋即成为爱侣。后来，江发现丹的继母云仙乃五年前抛夫弃女，离家一去不返的大嫂。江深明云的苦衷，便助她保密。不料，两人的往来被丹误以为二人有染，丹大怒，拒见江，又与云闹翻，终日愁眉不展。江不能向丹道出真相，唯有默默承受丹的冷待。最后，云回到前夫身边，那时，丹才知道错怪了江，又同时证实了自己并没有患疯病，疑虑尽消，二人重修旧好。。Somewhere in Myanmar is a forest rich in amber and controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Most of its inhabitants work in a mine, digging the earth night and days in the hope of finding the precious ore that will get them out of poverty. But on top of the excruciating hardship of the work, they also have to fear an attack from the army.。
